I worked closely with Dan Snider on a complex migration project for a large proprietary software application. Our responsibility included managing the application’s compliance with 74 CPA regulating bodies, including all U.S. states. We were to maintain version 1 of the compliance software, prepare version 2, and support customers during migration. When first delivered to us, the new platform was so full of errors that many areas did not even run. A speedy migration of customers to the new platform was a high profile corporate initiative; Dan was key in accomplishing this, advancing from contributor to coordinator and developer. For a considerable period we maintained both platforms on a total of eight environments and fourteen servers. Dan was instrumental in developing procedures to subdue chaos and preserve sanity. Our team succeeded in fixing and even enhancing the new platform. All customers were successfully migrated. Dan made this possible. After two years, I left the team confident that all was secure and impressive achievements would continue because Dan was on the job. It does not suffice to say that Dan is industrious, organized, intelligent, and utterly reliable. It is important to add that throughout a demanding and often stressful project, Dan remained focused and personable. I welcome any opportunity to work with Dan again.
