I have had the pleasure of working with Danny for years at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy. He is collaborative and graciously shares with his peers his insight and expertise in the fields of international development, data analysis, data visualization, higher education, and admissions (including his wizardry with software). He is innovative and adaptive, which has been invaluable to our team given the challenges posed by the ongoing global pandemic and the evolution of higher education given the changing needs and expectations of students. He is courteous and consummately professional, and a voice of reason and consistent reassurance during unprecedented times. I can say without hesitation that our team would so much the lesser without Danny’s presence, talent, and team-centered professionalism.

Danny Hamrick is a remarkable, dedicated and hard-working professional. I have had the pleasure of working with Danny as his supervisor for multiple semesters as an adjunct sociology and political science instructor teaching classes online. I have admired, not only his instructional capabilities, wealth of experience and technological know-how, but his creativity and open-minded approach to making his subject matter relevant and memorable for his students. Danny is driven, always ready for the next challenge or hurdle to try. He is eager and willing to tackle any project. As an instructor, students admire him and it is not hard to see why. Danny pulls from his extensive studies and experiences to make concepts clear, meaningful and quite frankly, fun. He challenges students to think critically and discover their place in the world. Danny is able to translate his depth of experience, knowledge and passion for his instructional content to any age or background in an accessible, relevant and inspiring manner. As a colleague, Danny is always positive, cooperative, and willing to lend a hand. He is a team player and predisposed team leader. He has an engaging personality. He has compelling stories from his vast life experiences and research to share, but is eager to learn and grow to improve his own craft and improve learning outcomes for his students. Danny infuses positive energy into every endeavor he undertakes or team in which he participates.
