Danny Driver is considered a versatile and creative pianist of sophistication and musical depth. His recordings have earned three Gramophone Award nominations, a National Public Radio (NPR) Top 10 Award, Limelight Magazine’s Instrumental Recording of the Year 2014, and inclusion in the New York Times’ 25 Best Classical Records of 2017. Concerto engagements have taken Driver to the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Minnesota Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, and Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, among many others. His ongoing collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has included concerts at London’s Cadogan Hall and the BBC Proms, with conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Alexander Shelley, and Mario Venzago. Recital invitations bring Driver to concert halls and music festivals across Europe, Asia and North America, and have established him as a familiar face at London’s Wigmore Hall. Recent highlights have included the Southbank Centre International Piano Series, Music Toronto, Salle Bourgie in Montreal, and several performances of Ligeti’s Piano Études interlaced with Debussy’s complete Images across the United States and in Osaka. Valuing ensemble collaboration as highly as his solo work, Danny Driver has long-standing musical partnerships with violinist Chloë Hanslip, cellist Oliver Coates, and baritone Christian Immler. Recent projects have included a complete Beethoven Piano & Violin Sonatas at Turner Sims Concert Hall (recorded live for Rubicon Classics) and song recitals in Switzerland, France, Germany and Canada. In a decade-long relationship with the prestigious Hyperion Records label, Driver has produced an internationally acclaimed discography of works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Handel, York Bowen, Benjamin Dale, Mili Balakirev, Robert Schumann, and Erik Chisholm.
