As regional safety manager at G&G Risk Management, we were awarded the contract by the California State Contracting Act, and started the DWR Perris Dam Embankment remediation project in Spring of 2014.My role involved pre-qualifying contractors, overseeing all environmental health and safety related matters or concerns, and working directly with the DWR design team to engineer, prevent and minimize safety related hazards. The proposed dam repair included constructing cement deep soil mixing cells to strengthen the deeper foundation materials, excavating and extending the existing drain system for the dam, and adding a stability berm on top of the improved foundation. The overall length of repair was estimated at 5000 feet. The project was anticipated to take three years to complete. Activities include vegetation clearing, rock-blasting for materials and a new construction road, constructing cement deep soil mixing cells, transporting and stockpiling materials around the dam and lakebed, dewatering, and building the stability berm. The contract value was estimated in the $80-million to $100-million range.

Safety manager of a high profile fortune 500 company TI project that incorporated a complete overhaul to 15,000 SF of existing office space in existing wing to serve as the new executive office space for global directors of research and development for this Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical company. The work was phased over two separate phases to allow for a staged occupancy and to minimize the amount of temporary placement facilities for existing employees. The new floor plans were designed and constructed to achieve a more open and collaborative work environment with the installation of many teaming and huddle rooms, small conference rooms, and open area media centers. Finishes in general were extremely high end with new woven vinyl floor coverings, fabric panel wall systems, stone flooring, porcelain tile accent walls, andstone/granite mill work. In addition, a new multipurpose training center was also constructed for large conferencing capabilities. The existing MEP systems were reused to the greatest extent possible, with minor modification of branch duct work and redistribution of electrical and tele/data to new office/workstation locations.
