I was a partner at Aquaduct, an environmental organisation working to eliminate plastic from Sri Lanka by providing a map of Water Refill Stations across the island. Tourists alone use >100,000 plastics bottles in the tiny island of Sri Lanka alone, because they are scared to drink the tap water. Due to lack of recycling in Sri Lanka, 98% of these are thrown into the sea, are burnt, or buried in the ground. This is killing the fish, turtles and environment.
