Research, Evaluation and Innovation Internship with Redkite
-
Mar 2017 - May 2017
As part of my undergraduate degree I participated in an internship with Redkite’s Research, Evaluation and Innovation team. Throughout this internship I conducted an in-depth literature review of financial assistance within the NFP sector. I worked to support the organisations services by creating a diagrammatic representation of the financial assistance processes, which was used to facilitate the transition of manual processing to digital processing. Additionally, I will amended the logic model for the financial assistance service.

As part of the New Colombo Plan, I spent 1 month in Fiji participating in a research project in partnership with Macquarie University and the University of the South Pacific (USP). The project involved collaborating with six other Macquarie University students, along with others at the Oceania Centre at USP and the Fijian Museum. I conducted interviews as part of an ethnographic video which was presented in the Oceania Centres gallery. I also assisted in the setup of two new exhibitions at the Fiji Museum. Throughout the project I also supported my colleagues by gathering extra footage, photos and information for their work. This cross-cultural experience enhanced my practical skills, and strengthened my ability to liaise with stakeholders, participants and colleagues.
