Craftsmanship Engineer
-
Mar 2015 - Jul 2018
Working across the entire interior of the vehicle to ensure the execution of the design meets competitive standards for Crafted Quality. Establishing Crafted Quality attribute targets through competitor benchmarking and ensuring program scope is sufficient to meet them. Identifying class leading executions to advise surface framework and engineering feasibility. Ensuring compliance to Corporate Craftsmanship Standards, identifying non-conformance and documenting deviations. Establishing competitive margin and flushness targets; creating and maintaining Craftsmanship section books. At each stage of the Studio release, the surface is assessed for the quality of the engineering execution; for example, the location of fasteners and parting lines are critiqued for visibility. Deficiencies are identified and resolved in the most efficient manner through engineering or surface changes. Show less

Interior Design Engineer - Door Trim
-
Jun 2012 - Oct 2013
Rear Door substrate and speaker grills.Taking the surfaces released from the design group and turning them into a component, incorporating tooling, assembly, durability, clearance and quality requirements. Since the door trim consists of several components to make up the whole assembly close co-operation was required between the designers of interfacing components.

Interior Design Engineer - Instrument Panel
-
Jan 2011 - Jun 2012
Working on the Model Year 14 Holden VF Commodore, designing the Instrument Panel (IP) pad. The design was taken from initial styling release, through initial prototype release and on to final production release. The pad was a large single plastic moulding that required consideration of tooling, crash, durability, assembly and quality requirements. The pad required a left hand drive and right hand drive variant which had some significant differences that required incorporating. The pad was successfully released on time and with quality at each major milestone.
