The design was taken from initial styling release, through initial prototype release and on to final production release. The pad was a large single plastic moulding that required consideration of tooling, crash, durability, assembly and quality requirements. The pad required a left hand drive and right hand drive variant which had some significant differences that required incorporating.The pad was successfully released on time and with quality at each major milestone.
