James Brindley began life as a fashion fabric business, launched by the Grafton family in 1936. Today, it celebrates over 75 years of defining the interiors market, with two large stores in Harrogate and Wetherby, a leading interior design service with clients throughout the UK and a worldwide distribution business. Still family owned and run by Mark Grafton and his son Simon, James Brindley has a proud history and is related to the company's namesake, one of the most notable English engineers of the 18th century. Their quest for James Brindley is always evolving and conviction in the brand remains unchanged. As Interior Designer at the Harrogate store I have gained a great deal of exposure encompassing many different interior design challenges including; large to small, commercial to residential successfully delivering against often challenging briefs. A high end interior design consultancy providing bespoke solutions to some of Leeds’ most prestigious postcodes. Offering a full interior design and a project management service Uffizzi Interiors creates innovative solutions which enhance our clients’ lifestyles. During my time at Uffizzi my role evolved from primarily a support role to the excellent and highly-respected Stephanie Hill to playing a much more prominent part in the end-to-end project management of complex high-end interior design briefs throughout the country including areas such as Chelsea and Knightsbridge. After a move away from my home-town I decided to take on a position at Topshop, initially as a visual merchandiser before moving through into a number of more senior positions culminating in the running of an entire floor in one of Topshop's flagship stores. During my time I learned a huge amount about front-line customer service, sales and ultimately putting the customer at the forefront of everything we did. As a result of my achievements in customer service I was presented with an award for excellent customer service by the Northern Regional Controller leading to being submitted for a national award. Upon attaining my A-Levels I decided to move straight into the world of work with leading Doncaster-based interior designer Homeworks. Given the organisations dual purpose of being both a high-end retailer of designer tableware and home furnishings in addition to being a bespoke interior designer my role changed throughout my tenure. Initially focusing on the administration and visual merchandising of the retail side of the business I developed strong customer service skills alongside an ability to interpret the customers needs and deliver an appropriate product choice, always aiming to exceed expectations. Towards the latter end of my time with the business I started to hone my interior design skills genuinely owning the process start-to-finish; understanding a clients' needs, creating concepts and ensuring the accurate delivery of interior design solutions.
