    • Malaria Program Coordinator
      • Dec 2017 - Jun 2020

In my time as a Peace Corps volunteer, I worked with community health workers, women's gardening groups, and student clubs to increase knowledge and better practices regarding health, nutrition, and income-generating activities. ProACT is a program run by community health workers who conduct weekly door-to-door sweeps and test and treat children under the age of 5 for malaria. In this role, I expanded the program from 8 to 20 villages, with 26 Community Health Workers. I collaborated with PMI, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), USAID, and UNICEF to update our data collection methods, training, and supply-chain management. In addition, I ran training for the 8 participating volunteers and assisted in writing a manual in English and French. Outside of my role as the Malaria Program Coordinator, I worked on youth development and community economic development projects. This involved facilitating the construction of 26 family gardens in one neighborhood, creating a women's group focused on nutrition and diversification of vegetables eaten. I Directed Camp Atacora 2019 and co-directed Camp Atacora 2018, a week-long camp where over 50 students get to learn about the environment, health, and gender equality. This included writing and managing a grant of $4,100 in 2018 Show less

      • Aug 2016 - Apr 2017

Environment America is a federation of state-based, citizen-funded environmental advocacy organizations. As a campaign organizer for Environment Maine I worked on the Stand Up for Solar campaign to preserve and advance statewide policies that drive solar energy – urging utility regulators and state legislators to stand up for solar attacks by fossil fuel special interests. Support for this campaign was gained by talking to local citizens, business owners and professors. On the local level, I took part in grassroots meetings targeted towards getting the Portland City Council to commit to 100% clean renewable energy. I also canvassed and fundraised for the Stop the Overuse of Antibiotics campaign, and organized the annual Environment Maine Holiday Fundraiser. Show less
