I am an RN working night shift in the intensive care unit. I often times take charge and precept nurses new to our unit! I’m responsible for making sure everyone’s schedules are completed and I also have to be sure the schedule is balanced and the appropriate number of staff members are on each night. I am part of our unit based council which is a committee where we yak to our fellow coworkers about issues that need to be addressed. The issues are discussed in our meetings and we try to come up with solutions.
