AVTS provides training, research and consultancy services in the area of counter improvised explosive devices (C-IED). Specializing in South Asia, I monitored open source news websites and collected data on terrorist incidents, which I summarize, highlighting tactical and technical details, and enter into a database (which has an Access front-end and SQL back-end). I run database queries to provide incident and statistical reports and I assist in the production of assessments of significant terrorist incidents, regional summaries and produce graphs using pivot tables. I am the point of contact for the UK Security Service for whom I produce a monthly terrorist incident and casualty report. I manage a database project updating the database with previous incidents, for this I am required to distribute work amongst staff members. My role requires me to quickly react to terrorist activity and produce reports to tight deadlines. To enable me to make informed assessments I have been trained in IED technology and tactics. I am security vetted to SC level. I am also a First Aid representative, a Fire Marshall and an ISO 9000 internal auditor for AV.
