      I work as the Kindergarten to Sixth Grade General Music Teacher. In the classroom we focus on performing, creating, and responding to each unit in music using a growth mindset. Our units of study are world drumming, vocal music (both individual and choral), music history (in the form of our composer of the months), Recorder and instrumental music, and composition through the use of voice, piano, and xylophones. Our curriculum used, implemented this year, are John Feierabend's "Conversational Solfege" and "First Steps in Music for Preschool and Beyond". I have also used Recorder Karate and Will Schmid's "World Drumming" curriculum. While also developing my own based on students needs. We also offer and after school choir, band, and orchestra to our fifth and sixth graders. Show less
