I am responsible for QA onsite, throughout each phase of the project as well as advising on and executing engineering solutions to problems that arise within the project. I liaise with representatives from the Council, main contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that the project is running smoothly and on schedule. I am responsible for health and safety one-site, I am tasked with reporting and investigating safety and environmental incidents to ensure we can improve our methods of risk management and implement proper variable controls to reduce the likelihood of an incident occurring. Each month I am tasked with compiling and submitting a claim, ensuring that all works, materials and labour are covered. This requires me to work quite closely with the surveyors, subcontractors and suppliers. Show less

My role as a Site Engineer with M&P required me to implement QA systems on-site and ensure that all the required testing and methodology was completed. This required me to be active on-site and engage with the crews as well as conduct my own checks using iCON GPS survey unit and other methods. With Core Group I was responsible for evaluating feasibility and potential project outcomes as well as executing residential, site-servicing designs. Once these designs were tendered and in operation, I would be responsible for ESC inspections and reports to the city. Approximately the last 8 months that I was with Core Group was heavily focused on Fibre Optic design in the Lower Mainland. During this time our main focus was data collection of the existing power pole/line infrastructure. Once the data collection was complete we would compile the information and analyze the impact of an additional load using QuickPole. Using the output from the software we were able to report on the physical integrity of the system and the deficiencies that would require rectification prior to the installation of the fibre optic cables.
