Pottery Studio Manager ▪ Oversee 4-6 instructors working in the pottery studio ▪ Clean & maintain space & facilities ▪ Fire student work -maintain and repair 2 electric kilns and accessories ▪ Keep inventory of materials and place orders for clays, glazes, and materials for making glazes ▪ Maintain and recycle clays & slips ▪ Prepare high fire glazes, formulate new glazes ▪ Pottery Demonstrations at Beck Center events Pottery Instructor ▪ Introduce functional, sculptural, and conceptual ceramic projects ▪ Instruct in clay- hand building, wheel thrown techniques, and decorative applications created with slips, underglazes and glazes ▪ Responsible for setting curriculum of 4-6 projects per 8 week session, 5 sessions per year ▪ Provide guidance and demos of more challenging projects for intermediate/advanced students Visual Arts (VA) Liaison (June 2017-Present) ▪Facilitate the Assistant Director of Education with the VA Department ▪ Assist in managing the VA Faculty, including help developing curriculum ▪ Help with inventory and order VA supplies ▪ Handle any inquiries/obstacles within dept.
