Experience

    • Artists and Writers
    • 1 - 100 Employee
    • Intern
      • Oct 2022 - Present

This volunteering project in Aruba with the non-profit Everything Is Possible has allowed me to gain valuable vocational experience within the field of media, in a number of exciting organisations such as:1. TeleAruba- I am lucky to have been placed with the largest television broadcasting company operating in Aruba, in order to follow the organisation as they carry-out their Christmas programme, Magia di Pasco. During this period, I am shadowing the Social Media Coordinator & Assistant Producer at the station, aiding in the writing and preparation of segments for the Christmas show, and working behind-the-scenes of their morning programmes, Nos Mainta.2. ArtisA- I have also had the opportunity to work with the organisation, ArtisA, a team based in San Nicolas championing arts within the communities of Aruba. With them, I have helped facilitate major art events including the Aruba Art Fair 2022 and the 'Climate Meets Fashion' Show, as well as gaining filming know-how by interviewing local artists on camera.

As a receptionist at a secondary school, my role encompassed many duties, including:1. Providing general receptionist services (welcoming visitors, managing the school's entry system, and maintaining all communication including inboxes and telephones).2. Providing administrative support (producing mail and monitoring mail, maintaining student/staff databases, clerical tasks such as filing and printing, and reporting premises faults).3. Handling financial tasks (Fielding Free School Meal requests, monitoring deliveries of school supplies, and liaising with the school's financial manager).4. Safeguarding duties (Enforcing vetting procedures, carrying out my designated fire evacuation role, monitoring student well-being, and adhering to Health and Safety procedures).

    • Business Administration Apprentice
      • Jan 2020 - Sep 2020

At Blanchards Inheritance Recovery, my role as a business administration apprentice made me adept at handling a variety of complex tasks within a fast-paced environment, and increased my capacity to deal with heavy workloads and frequent deadlines. Additionally, my time within this position allowed me to improve upon my interpersonal skills and administrative proficiencies: • Communication and Customer Service Skills: including the ability to communicate confidently via telephone or face-to-face with a variety of stakeholders, from responding to client queries to liaising with government departments. Well-versed in producing emails, letters and grants, regardless of subject or recipient.• Comprehensive IT Experience: including the use of Microsoft Office, editing the project management system ‘Trello’, updating the business’ WordPress client portal, and managing a client database.• Strong Administrative Skills: including completing legal contracts and forms, carrying out financial transactions and maintaining office supplies.• Extensive Interpersonal Skills: including the ability to work well within a team-based environment, being an approachable and conscientious leader when needed, and the ability to self-manage when working independently.

    • Research Intern
      • Jul 2017 - Sep 2017

This internship consisted of analysing the Institute’s aims, projects and achievements of its first ten years and producing articles outlining this information, with particular focus on several of the projects instigated by the Institute. Such projects included the conservation of environmentally degraded communities, investigating the respiratory resilience of communities in close proximity to volcanoes, and the response of biodiversity to social factors such as climate change. My role was to communicate these findings to a variety of stakeholders, ranging from local development schemes to university investors, by producing well-designed and engrossing literature.

Although this job primarily revolved around working on the checkouts, I completed training in more independent positions within the store, including the Tobacco Kiosk and Self-Scanners. I also took responsibility for cashing up the tills every day meaning I am well practiced at handling money as well as using the EPOS till systems.
