Site Remediation - Dry Cleaner, Dunullen,NJ (Dec 2015.-Present)This site was my second project that I oversaw with assistance from my boss that is an LSRP. We were asked to remediate a site that was contaminated by PCE's (Tetrachloroethylene) from this dry cleaning establishment. Contamination was found in the air, soil, and water at this specific site. Remediation consisted of a site assessment that determined the most contaminated locations throughout the areas bordering the cleaning site. After this we determined that a ventilation system was necessary to send oxygen into the ground that would then in turn force chemicals to become volatile and be vacuumed out through the ventilation system that was set up to release toxins through the ceiling of the establishment. Further work is still to be done with well work (groundwater) and injections for dilution (soil). Site Remediation - Lukoil Gas Station , Carney's Point, NJ (Jan. 2016-Present) This is the third project that I have played a vital role in, in my six months of employment at EG&R Environmental. This site is a truck stop located In Southwest, NJ. We were called to remediate due to leakage of oil from the gas station over its long lifespan of about forty years. Fortunately the only contamination lies in the soil. My job was to oversee the site drillers and account for all Health & Safety aspects related to this job. I was in charge of recording data, site injections, and consistency of product injected into the ground.

Assisting with wetlands delineation for electrical companies in the Long Island area. PSEG is working with our environmental scientists to determine boundaries of wetlands. This is done in a three step process. Identification of hydrophyte vegetation, hydric soils, and wetland hydrology are the tools we use to determine the boundaries of the wetland. At each site we do this type of analysis. In addition to this process, we also record GPS points in order to create Geospatial data maps for our clients. This information is used to create Notices of Commencement with all of the data we have collected. Wetlands Delineation - Long Island,NY (Sept. 2015-Present) As an Environmental Scientist I was assigned field work in the Greater Long Island area of New York. My duties consisted of traveling to Long Island to delineate wetlands and collect soil, vegetation, and hydrology information. After this data was collected we would return to the office the following day to log information in order to create notices of commencement. The notices of commencement were used to help make sub-contractors PSEG, KENNY CONSTRUCTION, and H2M aware of New York regulated wetlands. This was necessary due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy. Telephone poles that were being replaced in/near wetlands needed field visits to confirm their location and size. This was the job that my company EG&R Environmental was signed on for. My main office duty was to construct maps with ARCGIS and write NOC's.

This past semester I had worked with NJDEP's Dan Bello and Lake Hopatcong Foundations's Donna Macalle-Holly to create a geospatial database of the docks found around Lake Hopatcong. I did this by using Drew's Spatial Data Center and the Geographic Information Systems program to create a visual map. Using NJGIN and multiple other data websites to obtain raster and vector data was necessary in this project as well. In ARCGIS we used the act of digitizing to create the line data for docks. In this process we knew that our data may be skewed due to the inconsistency in line length, so we created three categories. Docks less than fifty feet, docks between fifty and sixty feet, and docks greater than sixty feet. This greatly improved the accuracy of our data in the long run. In the end, our project was used by city council as a reference for dock maintenance in the Lake Hopatcong area.

Previously have worked with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection at Island Beach State Park which is a non-profit organization. My work on this protected barrier island was in the sector of Division of Parks and Forestry. My job entailed refurbishing the park after Hurricane Sandy, and maintenance of the beach as a daily requirement. All employees at Island Beach strive to make the park a healthy and safe environment in which people can enjoy the outdoors.
