Mastered key activities during the experience as a delegate for FWWMUN: o Managed Maldives' delegation. Addressed the United Nations Environment Assembly committee topics. In particular my partner and me had to explain: a) how we thought Maldives, and hopefully countries it needed support from, could invest in environmental solutions for accelerating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals; and b) how we could implement sustainable food systems that would lead to food security and eradication of hunger. This was particularly interesting from the point of view of Maldives delegate since it would completely be submerged by water if sea-level continues to rise at the same pace as it does today. o Engaged in discussions about climate change and negotiated a sustainable economic development plan with other countries' delegates, aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out by UN in Agenda 2030. My partner and I proposed a disruptive structural reform of the United Nations bodies duties. The main highlight was the origination of a new apparatus focusing on scientific research about viable common resolutions to address climate change development which had to enhance a strict collaboration with UNEA committee and, therefore, with member countries’ delegates in the field. o Tested through 30 hours, distributed over 3-months, of training courses to improve the quality of our performance in the committee when in New York City, which involved: valuation and implementation of SDGs, negotiation strategies, UN Rules of Procedure, Geopolitics, Contemporary History. o Implemented and developed skills related to negotiation, communication, collaboration and organizational abilities with colleagues from all over the world due to the fast-paced and deadline-driven work environment. o Raised awareness of and took inspiration from ESG factors noteworthiness.
