I also served as interim-Executive Director for transitional assets and project manager overseeing construction and refinancing needs. As management contracts came online I was the one on the ground stabilizing census, rebuilding the team and re-branding the community. ~Monarch was acquired by Senior Care Communities 2/08~ As Executive Director- China Business Development at Senior Care Management my job description was far and wide. I traveled to numerous cities throughout China meeting with developers, landlords and city officials in search of the right location. Our focus was tier 1 cities with a focus on 5-star International standard retirement living. Dementia Care was also a niche that developed after determining that there is a growing need for this service. After conducting a feasibility study and after months of site visits and government discussions we determined that early 2008 was a bit too early to enter. (See Holiday JV as another example) China is large and the industry is young. Being first to market does not always translate to success, especially when the general public are not widely educated about the industry. I believe that we are 3-5 years out with a need for a flagship community or CCRC to showcase and prove that Senior Housing is good for Seniors and their communities. Show less
