I am currently volunteering in the Lilac & Lavender cottage, offering residential, respite, dementia & frail elderly care. I work with many different levels of communication & independence, with residents ranging from 70 to 100. My role can include preparing residents for activities & lunchtimes, making cold & hot drinks when needed. Cleaning wherever I can, especially the dining room, as well as setting everything up for lunch. Volunteer Teaching Assistant

In St Margarets, i worked in the reception classes. We worked as a free flow area, so when the children are learning through play, both classes were available to explore. We did many activities with the children in reception, such as phonics, handwriting, and simple mathematics. I often took a table of 8+ children, and took charge in those activities. I also helped with the preparation for other parts of the day or week. I also made sure the work in their books are up to date, stuck in and signed for. I also made sure their homework for the weekend is accounted for, whilst keeping a record of the homework completed, and how many times they have read in the week. I also helped out around the school during lunchtimes. Show less

Kitchen Assistant & Waiter
-
Jun 2017 - Nov 2018
The Kitcheners is a guest house for people over 65 who have served for their country. My job was a split shift, 6:30AM to 11AM, and 4PM to around 9 or 10PM, depending on the amount of people. I was originally brought in to be a waiter, which involved cleaning the dining room, pot washing, taking and serving orders, serving hot and cold drinks, and preparing the starters, mains, and desserts. However, due to under staffing, i also attended to guests rooms and sorted any issues that guests may have had during my shifts. Show less

Till Assistant

Aug 2015 - Jul 2016
I worked here alongside high school times, showing at 6am, delivering papers until 7am, then working at the till until 8:40am, giving me enough time to arrive at school. This was my first job, and it taught me a lot about customer service and time management, as well as keeping polite and positive no matter the situation.
