Daniel has an extensive breadth and depth of knowledge in global university admissions. Being relatively new in the area of University and Careers Counselling, the many different systems and processes were quite daunting. While most of my students went to Australian universities, where the applications are relatively straightforward, we were finding more and more wanting to go to US and UK schools. After connecting on LinkedIn, I reached out to Daniel for some advice on how to advise my students on their applications to non-Australian institutions. • Cyclical curriculum development: Create content and methods, implementation, evaluation plan and report on university counselling for worldwide HEI applications • Advise students and their families on selecting IBDP subjects, CP pathways, worldwide postsecondary applications, including planning for Gap Year • Create biweekly higher education and career newsletters for families • Integrate Unifrog platform into Years 8-13 curriculum for psychometrics linking to career and university pathways as well as reflective exercises • Coordinate in-school events and invite guest speakers from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Most recently I led a team organise over 140 HEIs over three evenings to 2000 students and parents across all 7 secondary schools in the ESF network • Run information evenings for parents and students about applications, scholarships, financial aid, transitioning to university.
