  Job Description: - Assist specialists in programming and field tasks. What I've done: - Created a virtual desktop management system. - Conduct hardware repairs on campus. - Develop utility programs to automate program installation. - Diagnose and repair network related issues (Utilizing Fluke tools). - Install and replace hardware. - Upgrade computer hardware. - Developed a program to periodically diagnose all campus computers and send diagnostic reports to our a campus server for review. - Prepare any and all devices to be deployed to departments for use by staff, faculty, and students. - Manage domain access and security. - Manage database security (Database servers such as SQL and MySQL). - and more. As an IT Student Assistant, my job is pretty much to do everything that my department's technicians do (Usually by myself). This ranges from simple things like setting up a printer to developing automated systems and interfacing with the campus-wide system (Campus-wide meaning all University of Hawaii campuses state-wide). I am a student attending UHMC and therefore am not an employee. This is an extension from my previous job listed as "IT Help Desk", and involves more tasks. Show less
