I develop inhouse server or website software for small companies, preferably written in python/django. For example: * mailing list server that personalizes attachments, uses Postfix' milter-interface to modify ODT-attachments, using the OpenOffice UNO interface to manipulate the text, export as PDF and replace the ODT email attachment. * multi-stage online voting software for big associations with complex rule sets, written in Django. * short text message service using SIP, to inform about crashed network services. In agreement with the clients all software was licensed as GPL, but not published to the internet. Public Open Source software I have written or contributed to, can be found at https://github.com/dansan Show less

Network Administration Architect and Lecturer
-
2003 - 2014
In the last 10 years I have conceptualized and implemented five small computer centers for afghan universities. Additionally I have trained ~150 people from administration-novices to full network and system administrators, so they can manage those networks. Intercultural competency is ofc a necessity. In the process I have worked with Xen, KVM, Bacula, iSCSI, I have migrated PDCs from Debian (Samba 3.0-beta!) to SLES and later to UCS with Samba4, using self-written python scripts for export, modification and import of the respective LDAP data. I was several times in Afghanistan: 01-02'2004 Kabul, 09'2004 Herat, 02'2005 Kabul, 08'2006 Kabul. Show less
