I really enjoyed working with Dan. His software development and problem solving skills were among the very top of the 100+ other software engineers we worked with at the time. Dan was particularly adept when it came to picking up new technology stacks, such as node and react. He also had an agreeable disposition, conducive to team work and was consistently helpful. I look forward to working with Dan again in the future.

Dan and I worked together at Pangea Tools for about a year and half, at which point we were bought out by HMH and the branch was dissolved. We started at the company providing editorial review and QA testing for the company's digital education software, and ultimately were promoted to become lesson authors and serve on the transitional training team. During this time Dan and I worked side by side, and I came to respect him greatly. His writing was clear, well-structured and to the point, his criticism/document edits were useful and constructive, and when we started producing lessons ourselves, the finished product was tightly-coded, uncluttered, and functional. The latter is no small feat considering the variety of changes to our FLEX authoring system that retroactively introduced a seemingly random number of mind-boggling errors to the system. Though these would often tax our patience and capacity to code around such quirks, I never once saw Dan express frustration at anything but the sheer faceless absurdity of the problem. When our company was bought out by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and our job became the training of their outsourced vendors' new hires, Dan stepped up to the challenge and spearheaded the thick lesson-scripting and Jira ticketing concepts. His detailed documentation on the company Wiki was coupled with a number of hands-on activities created in the authoring environment itself - trainees would use the product they were learning to learn how to use the product. It became quite effective. Also of note: Across Science Fusion Florida, National, and finally Spanish, Dan would regularly inject a measure of wit and good-natured humor amid the lifelessly practical technical documentation, as well as the tutorial lessons themselves. I enjoyed working alongside the guy, and it's a shame our company was disbanded when it was.
