The project was recognized by DC Preservation League in 2020, for ‘Excellence in Hist. Preservation’. My role included managing the construction administration process for the final phase. The project has been recognized with several awards (2019): ‘Award of Excellence’, Associated Builders & Contractors; ‘Mixed-use over $100 Million’, Associated General Contractors; (2020): ‘Excellence in office development’, ULI; ‘Craftmanship award’, Washington Building Congress. My role within the team focused on coordinating team resources for major installations for the project. Med-Star Georgetown University Hospital Surgical Pavilion The surgical pavilion is an addition to Georgetown hospital. It provides a new emergency department, a rooftop helipad, state-of-the-art surgical suites, private patient rooms, below-grade visitor parking and a new campus green space. (This project is still under construction and due to open in Spring of 2023). As a Project Architect I was responsible for programming, design development, document coordination, project management and administration. I managed planning, design, and construction documents, for a wide variety of projects. Several major projects included: Secure Government Building Complex WBA/HGA provided multiple services to The Peterson Companies to design an office complex totaling 1.3 million SF for use by a Government Agency. The complex included one 5-story 375,000 SF and two 10-story 445,000 SF office buildings; two 5-story parking garages for approximately 1600 cars; a single-story 25,000 SF connector building containing: a food court, a secure shipping and receiving facility, guard booths, and a control center for visitors. Individual phases of the project were LEED certified. Fredericksburg Parking Facility, Fredericksburg, VA WBA designed and managed the project of a 297-space, four-level parking facility. It was designed to resemble a 19th-century-style warehouse reminiscent of Fredericksburg's industrial past. This project won several awards. Automated People Mover Vehicle Maintenance Facility, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Washington Dulles International Airport, Chantilly, VA WBA designed and managed the construction of a 250,000 SF automatic people mover vehicle maintenance facility (APMVMF). This facility provides maintenance space for the fleet of automatic people mover cars for the new AMP system at Washington Dulles International Airport. The facility is comprised of nine (9) maintenance bays, accommodating up to 45 cars for light maintenance and 18 cars for heavy maintenance. Cargo Building 6, Phase III, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Washington Dulles International Airport, Chantilly, VA A 74,400 SF Air Cargo Facility with 26-foot clear heights. Designed to be visually compatible with adjacent Cargo Building 5. The building has 16 airside loading portals and 20 landside truck loading docks. Show less
