  As a technical writer, I am responsible for creating well-designed, understandable user manuals for a variety of consumer products. The core activity in this function is analyzing how products can most optimally be used and what the main pitfalls for the consumer might be. This knowledge is then transformed in user instructions by generating instructional illustrations (SolidWorks Composer & Adobe Illustrator), formulating easily understandable textual instructions to support these illustrations, and designing an appealing lay-out to bring it all together in (Adobe InDesign).   I helped Bureau Stoep - a design agency which focuses on the public space - explore its options for the integration of sustainability in its design strategy. This included the analysis and optimization of the ecological impact of several of its most successful designs and the adoption of innovative materials, but also the exploration of products with lasting societal value which improves their lifespan.
