Responsible for the investigation and preparation for prosecution of major violators of the federal Controlled Substance Act. Division Training Coordinator (April 2000 to 2004): Responsible for ongoing In-service training for DEA Special Agents in fou state region, coordinating and instructing Two Week Basic Drug Investigator Schools for Narcotics Officers at the State and Local level, planning and budgeting training programs on leading issues in drug law enforcement. Implemented "hands on" training approach combining lectures with practical exercises in areas of surveillance, clandestine laboratory awareness and overall curriculum of DEA 2 Week Basic Drug Investigator Schools. Coordinated innovative, relevant training for ongoing needs as requested and provided training on issues regarding Officer Survival, Raves/Club Drugs, Retirement Planning for Law Enforcement and Drug ID. Division Public Information Officer (January 2003 – December 2004): First, full-time, groundbreaking position initiating positive media coverage for the Denver Field Division, working closely with Special Agent in Charge to develop breaking news stories for television, newsprint, radio and magazines. Organized and lead multiple Press Conferences involving numerous law enforcement agency heads, and creatively interviewed with media regarding large drug investigation conclusions.
