By consulting historic prices on SAP, a tendency of prices was stablished which allowed to filter incoming biddings with coherent market values given the country lack of official inflation numbers. This brought approx. 15% cost reduction in 6 months on the mentioned categories. Forecasting methods were used through establishment of price tendency lines to predict the cost of materials on a 6 months’ time (approximately the duration of a regular bidding process) in order to guarantee budget expectations were met.
