RESPONSIBILITIES •As the mechanical designer, I am responsible for designing and drafting custom-built industrial noise reduction hardware. •Produce customized approval drawings in AutoCAD. •Produce fabrication packages containing cut-lists, DXF files for CNC, weld details, tolerances, material specifications and paint specifications. •Problem solve if fabrications issues arise by effectively communicating with fabricators to determine the cause of the problem, identify the solution and revise the fabrication drawings. •Train and supervise intern engineers while achieving KPIs to maximize profits by creating drafting templates for standard products. •Attended site visits to determine dimensions and layout to gain a proper understanding of the project. •Coordinate with other specialists and departments. PROJECTS Acoustic Enclosure Drove profitable completion of an acoustic enclosure designed to facilitate service access to a compressor and provide sufficient ventilation to prevent overheating while minimizing breakout noise. Analysis using heat and mass transfer principles was necessary to determine ventilation requirements for the enclosure design. A thorough understanding of design tolerance was required to ensure that all the removable panels fit together without significant gaps or conflicts. Acoustic Barrier Wall I drafted an acoustic barrier wall to block noise from a large mechanical room. The project required site visits to determine the dimensions and layout of the barrier wall system. I coordinated mechanical designs with the structural engineer who designed the support structure. I drafted panels to fit the support structure for simplicity and cost reduction. Precise installation details were required. Show less
