I worked at Farrington farms in their cabbage fields as a summer job before my final year at university. Within this job I was involved in planting seedlings on a hand planter, harvesting large quantities of produce by hand, packaging this and operating machinery to load and unload containers; moving them to pick-up points within the farm. This job gave me a developed insight into the management required to meet demands on short notice, as well as numerous factors that go into cultivating produce. Show less

This was a part-time university job in which I promoted events and festivals within Cardiff whilst I was at University. It was a great opportunity to further develop skills in addition to my studies, with the most evident being within communication and teamwork. The basic requirement of this job was to get strangers interested in whatever you were promoting that day, which made my immediate approach all the more important for the short amount of time these people would want to listen to me. This process of trial and error not only built my resilience, but in managing other people it was important to give advice and practical knowledge onto them in order for this type of work and management to be efficient and effective.
