In the four years I worked with Daniel at the Shanghai American School, he served as a wonderful colleague, a hard-earned Apple Distinguished Educator, a beloved friend, as well as a long list of other duties and achievements that uplifted our school daily. In meetings, he pressed the thinking of our school, from the classroom to the hallways, having us reconsider our perspectives of where we are and how we go about our days. His in-service workshops as a trainer in Visual Thinking Strategies were a brilliant showcase of his talents as an educator, revealing our innate human abilities to unpack and appreciate the aesthetics of the world around us. He is dearly missed.

I had the pleasure of studying with Daniel during our M.A. in I/O Psychology program at Adler University. Daniel and I were involved in many group projects as well as support units to our cohorts in the program. Daniel has an incredible gift in creating an educational experience while keeping the human development perspective within any circumstance.
