Dan is a pleasure to work with. He is certainly a talented coder and ML engineer, but does not rest on his laurels and has no fear to explore and learn. He knows how to get things done! Smart guy and good team player.

Matt Wood

Dan is a talented, capable and motivated software developer and data scientist with a deep understanding of market mechanics and automated trading. He also happens to be a great guy and was a valued member of our development team.

Easycure Technologies empowers Australian care providers and consumers by sourcing and distributing breakthrough medical technology from across the globe. As a design engineer for Easycure Technologies I have been responsible for the product design and prototype development of new products entering the market. These new products have the primary goal of improving the ergonomics of Easycure Technologies' medical devices. Within this project I have managed all the designs and prototypes by establishing all the necessary milestones and leading the project through all obstacles to move proceedings forward. Through this process I have experienced a significant level of responsibility and a keen understanding of the design process in producing commercially viable products. Show less

    • Driving Simulator Designer

My work in this project was the development of a driver-in-loop simulation, comprising of a virtual model of the RMIT Electric Team's race car and competition tracks. In conjunction with WHR Devices' 6 Degree-of-Freedom Motion Platform, the MP6, the project laid the foundation for a revolution in driver training practices and vehicle testing optimization for the team. The utilization of driving simulator technology saw the bypass of major limitations that the team experiences through traditional testing. These limitations include: • Delays to manufacturing, • Mechanical or electrical failures, • Course setup procedures, • Downtime for suspension adjustments & • Re-charging or refueling time. Bypassing these limitations not only allowed the drivers to start training earlier in the year; it allowed the race car's dynamic settings to be catered to each driver's specific driving styles at a much faster rate. In order to develop the simulator, I spent significant time gathering and analyzing data from all dynamic systems of the race car, in order to translate it onto a virtual medium. Utilizing CAD software, I was able to complement the virtual physics model of the vehicle with a visual representation. This further enhanced the drivers sense of realism when operating the simulation. Show less

OES, otherwise known as Ocean Engineering Systems, is a company that specializes in sub-sea pipeline trenching. Through the 140+ projects completed, they pride themselves on being the world's leader in the field. More recently, the company has expanded and explored its horizons in the direction of natural gas and its application as a transport fuel. My duties in the company were not fixed to one position. Rather, the roles I conducted required me to adapt to the immediate task at hand. This meant that I frequently transitioned between duties of mechanical engineering and business development, depending on what my supervisor required at the present time. The experience in the company made me very adaptable, whereby one day I would be designing trenching equipment and then next I would be conducting a business meeting with clients regarding natural gas. Some of the projects I conducted while at the company included the design of a mass-flow excavator, redesign of a natural gas compressors and design layout of natural gas refueling stations. From the business development arena, my experience led me to engage clients ranging from taxi fleet owners to engineering consulting firms in Indonesia and Myanmar. Show less

    • Unsprung System Designer
      • Feb 2014 - Dec 2014

For the 2014 Formula SAE Competition, I was responsible for the conceptual design, CAD development, FEA analysis and CAD assembly of the RMIT Electric Racing's R14e unsprung assembly. The unsprung assembly lies between the suspension linkages, drive shafts and wheel rim. Each wheel of the unsprung is comprised of a part known as the upright, which is responsible for withstanding 6 loads being transmitted through the control arms, push-rod and tie/steering rods respectively. This part is also responsible for withstanding the torque produced by the brake caliper. My primary requirement was to design a system that was capable of withstanding the complex loading scenario, while also considering the clearance requirements needed for the system to not interfere with the drive-train or travelling suspension linkages. I was also in charge of designing the various connections that link the vehicle's suspension to the wheels such as spherical bearing cups and clevis assemblies. Through the process I put great emphasis on design objectives, whereby my work helped significantly reduce the complexity of manufacturing and of assembly/dis-assembly of the unsprung, hence saving the team valuable time. The assembly that I designed has also remained a valuable system for the 2015 vehicle and was used for this years competition. The system was very reliable, having no faults and allowed the drivers to confidently compete in all dynamic events. Show less
