Ticket Sales Intern

Mar 2016 - Sep 2019
Being an intern with the Philadelphia Phillies has taught me a lot. I work in the phone center where I sell tickets for the Phillies. I deal with customers on a daily basis who are looking to purchase tickets or want general information about a certain event, game, concert, etc. I also help out with Gameday Operations around the ballpark. This involves helping set up accessible seats, tent parties, tour room, meeting rooms, suites, and anything else needed around the ballpark for that day. This is an exciting job where I have learned to excel in areas such as customer service, teamwork, and bringing positive energy daily. Show less

Hosting is very important in the restaurant business. I am the first person they interact with when entering the restaurant. I walk people to their tables while having a conversation with them. Asking them questions such as, "How many today?" "Have you ever been here before?" "What brings you out tonight?" These are constant questions I ask guests that enter the restaurant. Interacting with them and being positive is important. Other main topics I tend to bring up with guests would be the weather and sports. Bussing tables is important on a busy night in the restaurant. I have to be extremely quick and efficient. I always try to help my co-workers out by taking any dishes or cups they carry. This helps them out tremendously on a busy night. Although customers may ask me to do something that is not a part of my job, I still must do it. For example, get them a refill or grab them some napkins. If they ask I must deliver so this will help them out as well as the server. If I am too busy I still need to address their needs to the manger or server. Speaking with my co-workers on the headset is important as well too let them know what tables I am clearing. It is a very high pressure, fast-pace job that takes patience as well as efficiency.
