  In my role as Controller, I have been entrusted to oversee the operations of our accounting team, which has included leading the reorganization of the team to ensure that it aligned with a scalable organizational model. I issue timely and complete financial statements with accurate job-cost accounting reports. I coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit. Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly and that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner. I manage the selection of vendors to receive payment, the production of the annual budget, and intercompany accounting.

  In my role as Staff Accountant, I worked with our audit and review engagement teams to provide assurance to clients in a number of different industries, such as financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations, construction, and small businesses. I had the opportunity to help lead audit engagements by assisting with planning, fieldwork, and financial statement preparation. While working on these engagements I have expanded my experience in QuickBooks, Excel, and various types of industry specific accounting softwares. I also provided tax preparation services for various types of entities including individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, estates, and not-for-profit organizations. These services included the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, property tax returns, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, and other various tax forms. Along with these services I also provided tax planning for individuals. In addition to audit work and tax preparation, I also provided a variety of other accounting services. These included preparing account reconciliations, maintaining depreciation schedules, and assisting in various bookkeeping responsibilities.

  During my time as an intern for Whitinger & Company, I had the opportunity to receive real hands on experience. This experience included preparing quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, as well as year end tax forms. I had the opportunity to receive audit, review, and compilation engagement experience. I was able to grow my excel skills while preparing individual and business income tax returns.
