Graduate research on the role of allele-specific chromatin structure in genomic imprinting in the brain.• Discovered a role for pre-existing allelic chromatin structure in genomic imprinting in the brain. • Designed and executed an allele-specific region capture Hi-C protocol, including cell culture, library prep, and bioinformatics. • Performed bioinformatics analysis of both self-generated and publicly available NGS datasets including Hi-C, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, DNase-seq, and PRO-seq using bash, Slurm, and python. • Leveraged genetic and epigenetic modifiers (lentivirus, transposases, Cas9, dCas9) in an in vitro neuron differentiation system to characterize allele-specific gene regulation.• Mentored multiple lab members, including 4 rotating graduate students and 4 undergraduates.
