Dan is a hands on technology leader who is passionate about technology and growing the people that work for him. When I first met Dan he was a principal engineer in an information security organization we were both a part of, he later took on a new role in engineering management. Dan was equally happy rolling up his sleeves and solving technical problems as he was later leading engineering teams on a mission to improve our CI/CD infrastructure. One other thing I really appreciate about Dan is that he really cares about helping others grow in their career. He can often be found investing time and energy coaching, mentoring, and otherwise leveling up the folks reporting to him, and in my case, folks that don't report to him as well. Dan is bright, on a mission to make things better, and a pleasure to work with.

I worked for Dan at Point Inside as a DevOps Engineer. Before Dan came on board, our platform was kind of a mess. We had regular significant outages, enormous cost expenditures for a small company, and no real processes in place to dig us out of the hole. The minute he stepped through the door, the culture and mindset changed. Operational measures were immediately put in place to handle our major outages, alerting and monitoring were significantly tightened so we could identify problems before they occurred and processes that reduced our expenditure from $150,000 to $30,000 a month while also increasing our app availability from 96% to measuring single digit errors per millions of request. Dan will never tell you what you want to hear but rather what you need to hear. He's an asset to anybody he works with.
