Over the course of three years at Repton I taught students over a range of abilities from the age of 11 through to 18. During observations of my teaching I have been regularly awarded outstanding status for my lessons. Along with adding value to the ability of my students so that they achieve above their target grades in external examinations. These reasons have prompted me to run in-house workshops for the use of IT within the classroom. Other responsibilities given to me have included writing schemes of work for other staff to follow in order for them to improve their time management and share high quality practice throughout the department. I was also selected to sit on a school committee for marketing and raising the profile of the International Baccalaureate across the school and throughout Dubai which has helped Repton become the leading British curriculum boarding school offering the IB within the GCC region. Rossall offered me different challenges, in that, Rossall is a leading international boarding school within the North-West of England where a vast number of students have English as their second language. Hence, I had to adapt my teaching so that I could allow the students to progress and flourish to fulfil their ability. After my first year at Rossall I was chosen to join one of the larger boys boarding houses as a Deputy where I held the responsibility for the safety and well being of over 40 boys. Show less
