  At the start of September 2015 I was employed under the position of Resident Engineer on a Bulk Water Supply project in Otjimbingwe in the Erongo region of Namibia (Estimated project value: N$ 240 million). This included the construction of 224 km of pipeline (UPVC and Steel), two 500 Ml reservoirs, four operator’s houses and a Cashier’s Building. During my time as Resident Engineer, I was responsible for contract and site administration, quality assurance, monthly payment certificates as well as preliminary and detailed design.I was given the opportunity on this project to implement the first pre-paid water supply system in Namibia, which meant working closely with the rural community. I met regularly with traditional and cultural leaders of diverse ethnic groups, mobilizing the community and familiarizing all involved with the new pre-paid payment system. Show less
