Much of my early career involved working solo, headphones in. Dan’s influence during my time at Audio Network from the day he hired me, has helped me to understand how rewarding it can be to work in a team environment where people feel comfortable and are able to express what they feel. Working in an Agile environment was also a completely new experience for me having previously worked directly to project managers. Having also since seen other implementations of Agile, I'm extremely appreciative that Dan was the person to introduce me to it. Whilst a day didn’t go by where I wasn’t reminded that I was a filthy mercenary (front-end dev contractor), I can safely say that my time with Audio Network has been the best so far in my career, where I’ve genuinely felt as part of a family. Having moved onto new contracts, I have so far been comparing every aspect to my incredible time at Audio Network, and will likely be for some time.

Dan joined as a Dev Lead at Audio Network right after the team was formed and before anyone in the company new what "Agile" was. He was the primary drive that transformed the way the company produced software solutions by creating a culture of "build/measure/learn" around everything that we created and helping the rest of the organisation adopt Agility seamlessly. In addition to that he was a terrific mentor to us, taking the team from just developing software to doing continuous integration, TDD, being full stack, confident and responsible developers while maintaining software and procedures quality. He has great attention to detail, a lot of empathy and communication skills that made him essential in coordinating us, collaborating with management and creating a great work environment for everybody (favorite quote of him: "It's all about the people"). It was a pleasure to work with and learn from him. I can safely say I wouldn't be where I am today without his influence.
