Dan won't sit on the side line and watch the innovation train go past - he will grab the flag and lead from the front. Dan and I worked together when developing Awhi Ora, a walk alongside social support integrated with Primary Healthcare and he has consistently advocated for the service from the very first prototype all the way to business as usual across two of New Zealand's biggest District Health Boards. I have been impressed by Dan's ability to influence a culture change far beyond his own organisation - never betraying his highly relatable personality. Dan is a true asset in the changing landscape of mental health and social support in New Zealand.

I've known Dan for several years through our work across the Wise Group. Dan played a key role in the user design and specification of a mobile app for our frontline workforce. His knowledge of the business and the realities of working in mental health were critical success factors for the development team. Dan is very easy to work with, approachable, friendly, and very professional. He is well respected by his team, peers and management. He handles stressful stiuations well, and gets results under pressure. His ability to manage change is also a core strength. It came as no surprise to me when he was promoted to Service and Relationship manager; a role in which he continues to demonstrate leadership. I now work in a different role with frontline mental health staff, and am fortunate to have Dan as a colleague and mentor. Although we work in separate entities, Dan has made himself available to mentor one of my team, and actively promotes and supports a strong partnership between our teams.
