Dan’s progression at West Atlantic was extremely swift. Having joined us as an apprentice in 2018, Dan became one of the first two people to complete a Flight Operations Apprenticeship in the UK. Employing Dan full time at the end of the apprenticeship was a no-brainer, as was promoting him to Supervisor only a year later. His ability to assimilate a tremendous amount of network knowledge whilst also having the maturity beyond his years to manage a team effectively. His professional yet friendly manner allowed him to instantly embed himself as a popular and respected team member. This young man is extremely capable both technically and as a leader. He has a bright professional future ahead of him and he will be an asset to any organisation. Good Luck for the future Dan. You absolutely don’t need it but Good Luck anyway! Lance

Working in an airline's operations control centre in a multi-discipline role. Duties include flight-watch, ad-hoc movements as well as flight-planning. Further to airline operations I am also trained in crewing. My role largely sees me working as part of a team whilst monitoring the airline's flight itinerary in the immediate 24-hour period. Reacting to network disruption by implementing cost-effective and damage limiting recovery plans.

Controlling the inbound and outbound of all chilled and frozen stock movements through a multi-depot logistics firm. In this role I largely controlled and regulated the stock of a span of customers who opt to store their goods in a 'third-party warehouse'. In this role I acted as initial point of contact for the customers and delivered updates, information and processed any stock releases, transport requests and any other stock related queries the customer had.I began this role having no knowledge of storage, warehousing and distribution but have since developed a wide spanning knowledge of this particular field of logistics which is ever-changing, fast moving and often requires abstract thinking and complex problem solving. I developed strong relationships with the customers I worked with; largely so because the field of the logistics I specialize in is, in essence, a subcontracted function of the customer's business in storing and transporting product so a mutual trust and strong working relationship is seminal to this process.Further to specializing in supply chain and warehousing the role has also allowed me to branch out and develop a familiarization, understanding and working knowledge of other industries such as the meat trade, international transport and supermarket stock operations.

In this role I worked as an apprentice in the transport department of a multi-depot road haulage firm. As an apprentice I set about learning the skills and techniques associated with all operations related to the road haulage industry and built a sound understanding of the industry as a whole.
