Dealing with public needs, I have undergone a range of valuable experiences. Learning how to engage with the public helping with their needs this has helped to build my confidence and communication skills. Working on a variety of departments and a variety of times to help with peak times including night shifts over the Christmas period to ensure that stock was on shelves at all times to ensure the maximum sales possible, which helped the store to meet sales targets and profit. This displayed my versatility and flexibility to work in numerous different parts of the store with nothing phasing me. Working as part of a team to ensure that we met targets and delivered a high standard of customer service, while also being able to follow orders of managers and getting my jobs done within deadlines provided. I also encountered problem solving situations where I used initiative to gain a positive outcome. Show less

Working in the Greenways Publishing offices based in Wimbledon on a work experience capacity, I helped write football content for a few of their flagship football names. I helped provide content for both print and online for the Non League Paper, Late Tackle Paper Online and The League Paper Online, liaising with their then football editor Stuart Hammonds. In my time here I developed some significant skills including working to tight deadlines to create enticing readable content to a national audience. Conducting Interviews with footballers and managers turning these into readable stories and content. A major project I worked on in my time at the paper was to write the previews for the National League North and South Play Offs which is a major period in the Non League Calendar. I Conducted Interviews with managers involved. Show less

Sports Writer - Work Placement

May 2016 - May 2016
I worked on the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post's Sports Desk. Working with their experienced knowledgeable team. I helped create sports content for both online and print. My roles included writing features for both football and cricket. One of my main roles was to write the preview for the Test Match which was due to take place that week at Headingley which was a marquee standout for the paper that summer for cricket, this involved me researching and collating interesting information and statistics, to give the reader a comprehensive insight into the opposing team. I also wrote football content, which included major stories involving managerial changes with two of Yorkshire's biggest clubs Leeds United and Sheffield United, fans of these clubs make up a large segment of the paper's readership so it was paramount that my research was perfect and engaging at the same time. I also conducted interviews while here with Hull Pirates Ice Hockey coach, a sport which I was unfamiliar with but this didn't phase me after research I conducted a successful interview which was published, highlighting my versatility.
