      • Nov 2015 - Present

I have worked at PLS for almost 7 years now mainley in our workshop but I have sometimes been needed on site due to the skills and knowledge I have from my previous employment. In the workshop I have worked on many of our projects from small to large, manufacturing entire crane and gantry systems to lifting equipment heavy and light making full use of all the tools at my disposal starting from the standard band saw, radial arm drills, rota broch all the way up to our CNC profiler and our fully equipped machine shop. Also at our company we maintain and test all types of lifting equipment to certificate it as safe and to use with the capability of testing upto 500te on our test rig. Early last year I was promoted to workshop Supervisor; my roles include delegation and overview of each job that comes down onto the shop floor including our machine shop. I will see each project from start to finish beginning with overlooking the drawings for selecting the right candidate going onto ordering materials, consumables, bolts, gas and even paint for the finished product. Quality control checking each job throughout production is very important to me, making sure the correct process is being followed, such as: welding procedures, machining and fabrication tolerances, even to the paint finish making sure the high standard of our company is always met. Alongside these responsibilities I am still very much functioning as a welder fabricator, working alongside the people I supervise. Show less
