Parent Liaison
-
Aug 2019 - Jan 2023
I am currently employed as a Parent Liaison at Gateway International School (GIS). GIS is a transitional-kindergarten to eighth grade school (TK-8th) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. I work as a classified administrator in the school. My main role is to be a liaison between the school and community. I oversee the school-wide communication that is sent out either via e-mail, app, or social media. I also assist in building school culture by creating monthly award shows for the students. I also serve as one of the Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) leaders, training staff in the implementation of PBIS in our school. As a school admin I support our administrators in discipline and student engagement. We follow a social-emotional program called Capturing Kid’s Hearts, where the focus is on relationship building with students and staff. Hence my focus on developing meaningful relationships with students, to create a better environment for learning to happen. Show less
