Using data analytics and scientific background to discover biological and genetic risk factors for dementia in the Health and Retirement Study .- Primarily used statistical software R to build, manage, and analyze dataset derived from the Health and Retirement Study.- Performed extensive literature review to provide accurate data for creation of polygenic scores (genetic risk scores) for dyslipidemia, a measure of a person's genetic risk of having abnormal cholesterol levels, and to determine prior analytic techniques used to model the hypothesis.- Collaborated with peers and mentors in different disciplines to share analytic techniques and best practice to achieve common goal.- Majority of work was performed independently with half time spent on-site and half time working remotely- Completed master’s thesis aiming to estimate the association between subjective self-assessed mental work demands and cognitive status using data from the Health and Retirement Study in addition to estimating the role of unpaid work

I worked as an Americorps intern for the Student Conservation Association in partnership with the National Park Service at the Alaska Public Lands Information Center. My position, the Centennial Volunteer Ambassador, was part of a program employed in the second century of National Parks to engage the new generation of park visitors. The main way I served to engage the newest generation of Park advocates is through education and volunteerism.
