Claremont Colleges Hive Summer Human Centered Design Fellow
-
Mar 2022 - Oct 2022
Selected as one of three groups of Claremont College students to work on a variety of design projects that will utilize a human-centered design approach to solve important problems relevant to our present world. My project, titled "The Humanity Project", which received the maximum stipend, worked towards redesigning and restructuring the sexual education standards within Los Angeles County and Riverside areas to bring a new and inclusive approach to education through social media and community outreach. Through our organization, we have been able to amass over 43k views and thousands of engagements across various platforms. I also created a final compilation video as part of our submission of the project. My work, along with the other Hive Fellows, was showcased on the cover of the Pitzer website, and across all of its social media platforms. Our goal was to not stop at just the Claremont Colleges but to offer resources and a safe space for anyone who can find us in the digital world. The summer length program allowed us to have ample time to dedicate ourselves to this problem space. Throughout this summer and into this semester, we have connected with over 5 community organizations across Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire. This list included Amplifier, ICUC, Uncommon Good, Riverside Pride Center, QRC, and a few more. Through our conversations and partnerships, we developed the initial framework for our project.
