      For thirteen years in the classroom at Loyola High School, Mr. Annarelli taught AP European History and AP World History. His varied pedagogical styles laid a foundation for the historical narrative of each course as well as the important skills and habits of mind for thinking historically. Mr. Annarelli's courses place a heavy emphasis on critical thinking, historical research, historiographical perspectives, reading, writing, and public speaking. Mr. Annarelli has endeavored to embody the ideals of Ignatian education in his classroom by setting high expectations, modeling academic scholarship and professionalism, instilling a sense of social justice, and caring for the intellectual, social, and emotional wellbeing of each of his students. As Social Science department chair from 2009-2015, Mr. Annarelli facilitated professional development of individual teachers and collaborated with colleagues to design curriculum and set departmental policies that were consistent with the needs of the students and the mission of the school.
