I managed a project at the Ministry of Education in New Zealand, which gave me experience of project planning as well as leadership. National Standards data was sent into the Ministry and, due to the fact that this project had never been undertaken before, I had to decipher the best procedure to handle, process and organise the data. I created a ‘production line’ system that each report was processed through, delegated roles to individuals for efficiency and then rotated these roles for team well being and productivity. The project taught me valuable lessons about preparing for faults and the benefits gained from reflection on previous efforts.Skills utilised and responsibilities:- project planning- data collection and analysis- role delegation and supervision- project reporting- create processes to account for potential issues- liaise with schools with regards to missing/incorrect data.- organise the receipt of the data and how it should be stored.
