Guided and lead the transition of Evalan from a project-oriented company to a product development oriented company. Initiated the development of a generic of the shelf IoT connected sensors product, BACE. BACE has an embedded part, written in C, and runs on a micro-controller, and a cloud part based on MS Azure. The product is now used in multiple remote-sensing IoT applications. - Defined the technical architecture of BACE. - Hands on software development of the embedded part in C on a ESP32. - Technical leadership of the development team. - Guided and lead the improvement of the development process. - Setup of automated tests with pytest. Development of the Basic Scout platform. This is a platform for computer vision industrial inspection modules. The platform performs all the system functions, like interfaces with external systems, and makes it possible to plug in specific modules implementing an algorithm for a specific inspection. The platform also implements a flexible parallel computing framework. Implemented in C++, for the Windows OS and using several external libraries like OpenCV and Boost. Based on the Basic Scout platform, developed a number of inspection applications each with a specific computer vision algorithm. This resulted in a Basic Scout product family. The development of the product family and platform was done in close relation with the rest of the business and based on business needs as defined by management and business development. In this period, as a direct result of the focus on product development, the turnover and profit grew by a factor of 4. Lead the development team, defining development roadmaps in close relation with the business to prioritize improvements to the Basic Scout product based on business needs. Mentored developers and worked to continuously improve the development process.Continued to do hands-on software development. Show less

Development of commercial real-time computer vision software. The software is used in industrial inspection systems for inspection of product quality, mainly in the food and beverage industry. The development included both the development of computer vision algorithms to perform the analysis of the images, as the development of a real-time and parallel system, and the development of interfaces to other systems and devices using sockets, Digital IO and serial IO.Development done in C++, using the OpenCV library and on a Windows (embedded) platform.
