As well as working as a support worker within the trust, I also took on the role of being a bank catering assistant. Within this role, I was required to prepare various foods, such as sandwiches, pastas, panini's, desserts and various other home baking products. I was able to gain a basic understanding of food safety and hygiene in a professional environment, as well as learning how to complete a task to perfection within a short timescale. This skill is adaptable to different contexts that are applicable to various areas and sectors of "work". Show less

I was able to work as a sales assistant at Clintons Cards (White rose centre, Leeds) from the summer of 2015, as well as during the busy Christmas period of 2015. I worked in various departments of the store, meaning that I held a lot of responsibility ensuring that the customer’s needs were met to their satisfaction, as well as making sure that the targets and goals which were set by the store were being met. Working behind the till, allowed me to develop many skills as well as experience of being under pressure for providing customer care. Being able to communicate with customers whilst multitasking through handling the till has develop my coordination skills, as I was able to manage two things at the same time effectively. Furthermore, from working within retail, I had been given a great deal of responsibility, which I have incorporated and considered to be a part of my qualities. Being responsible goes to show that I have good self-management. I believe that self-management is all about being punctual, flexible, being able to get work done on time and being able to improve my own personal performance. All of those factors prove that I can be trusted to get whatever job which is set for me to be done on time. Show less
