Excellence is defined as a talent or quality which is unusually good and surpasses ordinary standards. The history of the word excellence is based on the Ancient Greek word...Arete...which means an outstanding fitness for purpose. Arete, in its basic sense, means excellence of any kind; the act of living to one's fullest potential. This was the beginning of my research into the word excellence, which lead to Arete. The more I read, the more inspired I became and I knew Arete Consulting was the name of my company. It fully represents what I want to demonstrate... excellence of work product, excellence in ethics and integrity, outcomes of excellence. A Legal Nurse Consultant is a Registered Nurse who uses existing expertise as a healthcare professional plus specialized training to consult on medical related cases. Nowhere else can an attorney find this level of cost effective expertise for reviewing medical records and understanding the terminology and subtleties of the healthcare system. The LNC bridges that gap in the attorney's knowledge. While the attorney is the expert on legal issues, the Legal Nurse Consultant is the expert on nursing, the healthcare system and its inner workings. Case Management Society of America defines Case Management as “A collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the options and services required to meet an individual’s health needs, using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes.” I am a Board Certified Case Manager by CCMC. As the 1st & largest nationally accredited organization that certifies case managers, CCMC sets the competency standards for the practice of case management. Board certification by the CCMC includes a rigorous review of a professional’s case management knowledge and case management experience. Additionally, I am an ODG (Official Disability Guidelines) Certified Case Manager. Show less
